This past weekend we had our competition committee meeting up at Wing Mountain in Flagstaff and got to spend some wonderful time with folks from various clubs who came up to camp and ride with their friends and families. We all had a great time. I know not all of you are into the club thing, but if you are looking for a way to meet people who have a common interest, get out on the trails and ride, camp, take your kids riding, etc... Go to the AMRA website for a list of the clubs and contact them so you can go to one of their meetings and see if it is something you might be interested.

On a separate note, I would like to remind you all that this weekend is the Pedals VS Piston trail maintenance day up in Flagstaff. Here is the info from the CTR website -

http://www.coconinotrailriders.org/blog.htm

Saturday, September 11th Brian Hawthorne will be comingdown to Flagstaff  from Idaho to speak about the latesthappenings concerning the USFS TMR. Location: Northland Motorsports (next to the Flagstaff Mall) Time: 5:00PM Who’s invited? Everyone Joe Hengeveld and the good folks at Northland will be donningtheir chef’s bonnets and grilling gourmet burgers and tubesteaks starting earlier in the afternoon (I’ll post “chow time”when Joe let’s me know). Additionally, ALL are invited to the annual “Pedals versesPistons” (PvP) trail day which will start at 8:30AM - 1:00PM. If you’re not familier with the PvP trail day, we (Coconino TrailRiders and noble friends) build  NEW MOTORIZED trail alongthe good folks of Flagstaff Biking, after which we woof downmass quantities of hot/fresh Fratelli’s Pizza and consumeappropriate beverages. In the past, we’ve had superb support from our AMRA brethren(and sisteren ?), so we’re hoping all will join us again this year.

I know its early, but I need to make work arrangements ASAP. First Globe event, Nov 6th. Is this event 1 day only, minis A/B/C's? If not, what days are planned for what classes.  Looking forward to this year, thanks guys!

Hey Chris, my understanding is that it's a one day event with big bikes and minis running on the same day.

Hey bajarcr
Sorry we let you down but all those issues have been fixed. Except i thought we were putting on a off road race so the mx tracks were left a little dry and rough kinda like BAJA??? That is the beauty of AMRA we have a mix of all different conditions and courses to see who the best riders really are. PLUS the jan date is going to be a family fun new years off road weekend with great times by the campfires and all kinds of activities and a whole bunch of riding an racing. Maybe you can give us another try.
Bobby

no don.

thanks EZ.

i don't blame acp for silty conditions  but some of the desert layout led to many people cutting the course, the nat. track was poorly prepped, the other track was like concrete, and they had an empty promise of results posting times.  Is Bobby the dude with the mullet?  He didn't even understand the concept of corrected race times at the riders meeting.  I'm just sayin.

honestly i don't care to debate this further and i appologize for being negative but that was the downfall of last season and Jan 2nd is just a poorly chosen date.

cause i'm afraid ACP will blow it again.

refresh my memory, do we get to drop a race in this season?

Come on Eric,... the weather did not cooperate.
It was dusty and brutal but that's what we get sometimes in the desert.

They still put on a race and learned a lot in the process.
They are really stepping up this year in a big way.

Bobby (ACP) is heavily involved with AMRA this year and putting in a lot of time and effort to improve the series.
Before I got involved I did not realize how much work goes on "behind the scenes" to make this work.

Call Bobby and give him your suggestions on what you think they could have done better and share any ideas you may have for this next year. He's really open to ideas and criticism.

We have not finalized the rule book yet but plan on 1 drop for the 2010-2011 race season.
